Senator Jake Hoffman Statement on Assassination of Arizona Conservative Leader and Long Time Friend, Charlie Kirk
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Senator Jake Hoffman is speaking out in response to the assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University today.
"The world will never truly understand the magnitude of the loss it suffered today," said Senator Hoffman. "Charlie Kirk was one of the most fearless, patriotic, loving, God-fearing, brilliant men ever to walk this earth."
Hoffman went on to say:
This is not just an attack on a leader or a political figure; it's an attack on a friend, father, and man who dedicated his life to something greater than himself – a man who fought tirelessly for the soul of America and to defend the values we were founded upon.
Charlie inspired tens of millions all around the world, empowering younger generations to think for themselves, reject indoctrination, and boldly proclaim the only principles that bring opportunity, prosperity, and liberty to all.
This is a loss from which America will never fully recover, but Charlie’s legacy will not end here because he intentionally built a movement far bigger than himself. For as long as I can remember, Charlie spoke about building more than an organization, more than a brand — the mission God had called him to was building a movement that could usher in the next 250 years of freedom and opportunity just as America’s founding generation had ushered in the first. His movement will only grow stronger in the wake of this heinous act of political terrorism.
For a decade, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Charlie on this shared mission to restore American greatness and return it to its rightful place as the shining city upon the hill. Charlie wasn’t just an ally; he was a friend. Charlie’s unshakable belief that Jesus is King was an inspiration to all who knew him, his love for his wife was immeasurable, and the joy his children brought to his life demonstrated perfectly the kind of kind-hearted man he was. His faith gives me comfort that tonight, and for the rest of eternity, he walks tall with our Creator.
My prayers are with Charlie, his wife Erika, and their two children during this unthinkable time. We will forever remember this day as one of the biggest losses our nation has ever faced.
