Senator Carroll Celebrates SEMICON West's Historic Move to Phoenix, Cementing Arizona's Role as Global Semiconductor Hub
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Majority Whip Frank Carroll is celebrating a major win for Arizona as SEMICON West 2025 – the largest and most influential semiconductor conference in North America – officially kicks off in downtown Phoenix this week. This marks the first time in 50 years the event has been held outside of Silicon Valley, underscoring Arizona's transformation into a national leader for high-tech jobs, manufacturing, and innovation.
The Phoenix Convention Center is expected to host a record-breaking crowd this week, attracting tens of thousands of visitors, global tech leaders, and top investors, with registration numbers up 62% compared to last year. SEMI, the organization behind the event, expects around 40,000 attendees throughout the week. The event sold out last December, prompting organizers to secure expanded space to accommodate demand. As part of the week's programming, the Arizona Commerce Authority and the Greater Phoenix Economic Council are co-hosting the Arizona Semiconductor Leadership Day, which brings together over 600 guests, including delegations from 17 countries, for a focused look at Arizona's unique strengths in semiconductor infrastructure, talent, development, and public-private partnerships.
"With billions in new investments, Arizona continues to show that we can compete – and win – on the world stage. The fact that SEMICON West has come to Arizona and sold out speaks volumes about our leadership in the global semiconductor space," said Majority Whip Carroll. "This is more than a conference; it's a recognition of the years of collaboration and vision that have made Arizona a cornerstone of America's tech future. I remain committed to supporting continued industrial growth through thoughtful public policy as we work towards boosting our economy, strengthening our communities, and creating opportunities for Arizona families."
