Republican-led Arizona Legislature Champions Three Tax Cuts in Three Years
to Support Hardworking Arizonans
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— In a strong display of fiscally conservative leadership, the Republican-led Arizona Legislature is delivering real, measurable relief for hardworking Arizonans with three tax cuts passed in the last three years, helping families, renters, and small business owners keep more of their hard-earned dollars.
Last month, Republican lawmakers passed SB 1069. Beginning January 1, 2026, this legislation raises the state's business personal property tax exemption to $500,000, reducing burdens on small business owners.
Passed in 2023 and implemented at the beginning of 2025, SB 1184 bans municipal excise taxes on residential leases, relieving tenants of additional tax liability and helping lower housing costs.
Also enacted in 2023 under SB 1734, the Arizona Families Tax Rebate returned directly to households up to $750 for single filers and up to $1500 for joint filers, including $250 per dependent under age 17 and $100 per older dependent.
"At a time when families are feeling squeezed, we're doing what government should – getting out of the way and letting our hardworking taxpayers keep more of what they earn," said Senate President Warren Petersen. "These tax cuts aren't handouts. They're the result of smart, conservative leadership that puts everyday Arizonans first. This is the same pro-growth, American First approach that President Trump is delivering for our nation, and we're proud to carry that torch here in the Grand Canyon State."
