President Petersen Announces New Senate Committee Chairmanships
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen is making changes to committee chairmanships as follows:
Senator John Kavanagh is stepping down as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee to focus on his new role as Senate Majority Leader. Senator David Farnsworth will now serve as the new Appropriations & Transportation Committee Chairman, bringing a strong record of fiscal conservatism to one of the Senate's most influential committees.
Senator Hildy Angius will replace Senator Farnsworth as chair of the Senate Education Committee, where she will lead efforts on important education and parental rights issues.
"These appointments strengthen our chairmanship bench and keep our conservative agenda focused where it belongs – on the needs of everyday hardworking Arizonans," said President Petersen. "I'm confident these committees will continue to be led with integrity, discipline, and common sense."
