District 5 Legislators Applaud ADOT for Listening to Community Feedback and Scrapping Plans for Roundabout
STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX – Representatives Leo Biasiucci (R-5) and Gina Cobb (R-5), along with Senator Sonny Borrelli (R-5), today applauded the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for listening to community feedback and scrapping plans for a roundabout at Aztec Road and the Mohave Valley Highway (State Route 95).
Rather than moving forward with a roundabout, ADOT intends to place a turn signal at the intersection.
“We are pleased to announce that ADOT will not be moving ahead with a planned roundabout at Aztec Road and the Mohave Valley Highway,” said Representative Biasiucci. “I applaud ADOT for listening to our concerns and honoring the wishes of the community we represent.”
“ADOT deserves credit for respecting the input of our community,” said Representative Cobb. “ADOT’s improvements will make the intersection safer without disrupting traffic.”
“We support ADOT’s plan to place a turn signal at the intersection and are confident that this upgrade will satisfy the safety concerns with that intersection,” said Senator Borrelli.
