Senator T.J. Shope Celebrates New Funding
for Interstate 10 Improvements
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Senator T.J. Shope is releasing the following statement in response to today's announcement of a $95 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for the widening of Interstate 10 between Chandler and Casa Grande.
"I've dedicated the last several years of my service at the Legislature to securing the dollars needed to create a safer and faster commute for those who rely on this notoriously dangerous stretch of Interstate 10 between Chandler and Casa Grande," said Senator Shope. "This federal grant will help make the dreaded rush hour drive through my district a little less painful and will help support the economic growth our state continues to enjoy from the Republican policies implemented over the last decade. Kudos to Governor Lewis for his efforts in helping to make this improvement project possible within the Gila River Indian Community. His partnership with me on this endeavor has paved the way in creating a more reliable I-10 for all commuters through our state."
