Departure of ASU Athletic Director is the Right Decision
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Arizona State University Athletic Director, Ray Anderson, resigned on Monday, a move Senator T.J. Shope believes is the right one.
"As a proud Arizona State alum and lifelong Sun Devil fan, I've been troubled for some time by the administration Ray Anderson led during his near decade's long tenure as athletic director," said Senator Shope. "This move is not only a long time coming, it's a move fans and athletes deserve. The ASU fanbase is united in their support for the Sun Devils, and many of us now have hope that this program will get back on solid footing."
Back in August, Senator Shope wrote a letter to the Arizona Board of Regents, calling for an investigation into Mr. Anderson's questionable and unsettling tenure with Arizona State University. This latest development demonstrates efforts to restore ASU's athletic department into an entity of pride for Sun Devil Nation.
