Arizona Senate Majority Leader Speaks Out
Against Violent Los Angeles Riots
PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Arizona Senate Majority Leader Janae Shamp is denouncing the violent riots currently unfolding in Los Angeles, blaming democratic Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass for their habit of letting California burn.
"Anarchists have turned the streets of LA into a warzone, underscoring the dangerous agenda Democrats have destroyed California with," said Majority Leader Shamp. "While we recognize the right to peacefully protest, the acts of violence we're seeing are unacceptable and erode the safety we value in our neighboring state. As an Arizonan watching the violent riots tear through LA, I'm outraged by the hypocrisy of those who claim to champion justice while setting fires, looting businesses, and assaulting law enforcement. These destructive acts betray the very principles of peaceful protests and are leaving communities even more shattered after the recent arson setting southern California ablaze back in January. The mayor of Los Angles and the governor of California had an opportunity to stop these rioters, but they refused. They're choosing to fight for illegals over fighting for the legal American citizens who fund their paychecks. President Trump is taking swift action and doing what Americans expect of their elected leaders. Law and order will be restored under the Trump Administration. Anyone who stands in the way is only enabling this insurrection to continue. Shame on Governor Hobbs for joining the woke mob led by Governor Newsom. Arizonans are demanding you do better."
