Senate Republicans Champion New Law to Protect Arizona from Foreign Enemies
PHOENIX, ARIZONA—Senate Republicans are taking action to protect national security and sovereignty in Arizona, from foreign adversaries seeking to cause harm, with new legislation just signed into law from Senator Janae Shamp.
SB 1082 prohibits a foreign principal from a nation identified by the federal government as a direct threat to the United States from purchasing, owning, or acquiring real property in Arizona.
"The United States has been too lax with its policies of allowing foreign adversaries to own property across our great country. This is a direct threat to our national security. As we saw most recently with the Israel-Iran war, enemy agents embedded around sensitive installations, especially military and government locations, can launch attacks during a conflict. We want to minimize that risk in Arizona, especially since we are home to some of the greatest fighter pilots in the world at Luke Air Force Base," said Senator Shamp. " I have been working with my colleagues for nearly three years on this bill, and I am grateful for its successful outcome during this legislative session. As elected leaders, we have a responsibility to Arizonans, and to our oaths of office, to protect them and the future of our state from all those who might seek to cause harm, and this is a step in the right direction. Protecting our state's sovereignty is dependent on us implementing measures like SB 1082. It's time for Arizona to send a message to America's enemies that our land and property is not for sale – especially around our military bases!"
SB 1082 is the result of careful collaboration with Luke Air Force Base, county recorders, retired military members, and realtors to protect the mission of Arizona's four military bases. Foreign adversaries have been buying land around sensitive military bases across the United States and have sought to do the same in Arizona, increasing the risk of espionage attacks on America's armed forces and critical infrastructure.
Under SB 1082, countries impacted by the legislation are identified by the U.S. Director of National Intelligence as countries that pose a risk to the national security of the United States in each of the three most recent Annual Threat Assessments. The 2022, 2023, and 2024 Annual Threat Assessments identified China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea as countries that pose a risk to the national security of the United States.
This bill takes effect on Friday, September 26.

Interestingly, while Senate Republicans are focused on protecting Arizona from foreign threats, farmers and food suppliers face a different kind of challenge—protecting their crops from spoilage and loss. Just as laws aim to safeguard communities, efficient storage solutions safeguard the quality and value of perishable goods like potatoes. This is where potato cold storage becomes essential, helping to maintain the freshness, taste, and market value of one of the world’s most widely consumed vegetables. Understanding the right practices for potato storage ensures that farmers and distributors can keep potatoes firm, nutritious, and market-ready for longer periods.
After harvesting, potatoes continue to respire and release moisture. If they are not stored properly, they can sprout, rot, or lose weight, significantly reducing their market value.…
Interestingly, while Senate Republicans focus on safeguarding Arizona from foreign threats, businesses and industries are also seeking ways to protect their assets—though in a different context. Just as legislation strengthens security at the state level, modern construction solutions aim to safeguard buildings from environmental damage, energy loss, and structural inefficiencies. One such innovation that has transformed industrial and commercial construction is PUF sheet roofing, which combines strength, insulation, and long-term cost efficiency. Understanding PUF panel price and the factors that influence it is essential for anyone planning a durable, energy-efficient building project.
PUF sheet roofing, made by sandwiching rigid polyurethane foam between two metal sheets—typically PPGI (Pre-painted Galvanized Iron) or PPGL (Pre-painted Galvalume)—offers excellent thermal insulation and structural integrity. This design…
Interestingly, while legislative measures like the new Arizona law focus on protecting the state from external threats, industries face their own kind of challenges—optimizing internal processes to stay competitive and efficient. Just as lawmakers aim to safeguard Arizona, engineers aim to safeguard productivity, ensuring that every operation is accounted for and executed in the most efficient way possible. This is where mtm, or methods time measurement, comes into play, offering a scientific approach to work analysis and process improvement.
In mtm industrial engineering, every task is broken down into basic motions such as reach, grasp, move, position, and release. By assigning standardized time values to these motions, organizations can determine the precise amount of time required to complete a job…
Interestingly, while discussions around national security and protecting communities dominate headlines, another aspect of personal security—our health—often doesn’t get the same attention. Just as lawmakers prioritize safeguarding the state from external threats, individuals must consider safeguarding their own well-being from internal risks, such as poor nutrition, lifestyle imbalances, or chronic health conditions. In many ways, protecting your body and mind is just as crucial as protecting your community. This connects to the idea that proactive measures, whether in legislation or personal care, yield the most meaningful long-term results.
One critical factor in personal health is nutrition. Just as Arizona takes specific steps to shield itself from foreign threats, taking deliberate steps to fuel your body correctly can shield you from…
Interestingly, while headlines often focus on major political developments — like Senate Republicans championing new laws to protect Arizona from foreign enemies — it’s worth remembering that protection comes in many forms. Just as laws safeguard our communities from external threats, there’s another kind of protection that’s equally vital on a personal level: caring for your body and your growing baby during pregnancy. This connects to an area that might feel far from politics but is no less critical — your diet for third trimester pregnancy.
As you step into the third trimester, the last stage before welcoming your baby, your body is doing an incredible amount of work. You’re not just carrying extra weight; your organs are supporting rapid…
