Senate Appropriations Committee passes 2010 budget Closes $3 billion deficit without raising taxes
(STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX) – The Senate Appropriations Committee Wednesday passed a 2010 budget that closes a $3 billion deficit without raising taxes for Arizonans during the worst fiscal crisis in our state’s history.
The 10 bills passed out of committee balance the budget with a combination of spending reductions and delays, fund transfers, federal stimulus funding and additional non-tax revenue.
“We continue to work with the members of the Senate and House, as well as the governor to do what is right for Arizona during this difficult time,” said Appropriations Committee Chairman Russell Pearce, R-Mesa.
