Senator Reagan introduces recall election bill

Senator Michele Reagan has introduced a bill to close several loopholes in Arizona’s recall laws. The Scottsdale Republican is working with election officials across the state on the bill.

“The recent recall election highlighted several inconsistencies between regular election laws and recall law,” says Senator Reagan. “Arizona’s recall statutes have not been updated since statehood.”

SB 1262 makes recall timelines consistent with regular election timelines. It specifies the campaign finance rules that apply during a recall election. The bill also adds more transparency on spending by defining when a recall campaign begins and ends.
