PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Senator Mark Finchem is honoring the life and legacy of former Arizona Representative Noel Campbell, who passed away at the age of 84.

Representative Campbell was hurt in a motorcycle accident on January 20 and succumbed to his injuries on January 24. Before joining the Arizona Legislature, he served his nation for many years as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Navy, with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and with backing fire operations at times when air support was needed for suppression.

"Noel served Arizona with distinction, representing his district with a steady hand and a deep commitment to the people he was elected to serve," said Senator Finchem. "Never afraid to have a scrappy debate, his work at the Legislature reflected a strong belief in public service, civic duty, and the responsibility of government to its citizens. Noel was someone who took the job seriously and never forgot who he worked for. He represented his district, Legislative District 1, with integrity and left a lasting mark on Arizona's legislative history. His passing is a loss for our state. Noel was known for his thoughtful approach to policy and his dedication to Arizona communities, particularly in Legislative District 1. His service spanned decades of civic involvement, and his impact continues to be felt by colleagues and constituents alike."

Senator Finchem extends his condolences to Campbell's family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
