PHOENIX, ARIZONA—Senator David Farnsworth, Chairman of the Senate Appropriations, Transportation, & Technology Committee, is taking significant steps to position Arizona as a national leader in next-generation transportation. Senator Farnsworth hosted leaders from Pivotal to highlight Arizona's commitment to innovative technologies that will help shape the future of travel.
Pivotal is an innovative air mobility company focused on developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft that comply with the Federal Aviation Administration's Part 103 ultralight category. During their recent visit to Arizona last week, Pivotal executives met with Senator Farnsworth to share insights about their aircraft, operations, and real-world applications. The visit included a trip to Superior and Globe, where they identified potential flight locations. This exploration highlighted how technology could enhance connectivity, public safety, emergency response services, and overall mobility in rural communities across the state.
"Arizona has a unique opportunity to lead in the next era of transportation," said Senator Farnsworth. "Advanced Air Mobility is not just about technology for the sake of technology; it's about enhancing how people move, keeping communities connected, and preparing for the future. Witnessing how these aircraft can directly benefit Arizona and discussing their operation across diverse landscapes, including rural towns, reinforces why our state is well-positioned to take the lead. My goal is to ensure that Arizona remains a place where innovation is welcomed, responsibly explored, and ultimately used to improve the quality of life for all Arizonans today and for generations to come."
"Arizona's forward-thinking legislative framework provides the ideal environment for Pivotal to demonstrate how light eVTOL technology can transform mobility across the Grand Canyon State," said Ken Karklin, CEO of Pivotal.aero.
