Senate Republicans Announce Senator John Kavanagh as New Majority Leader

PHOENIX, ARIZONA— Senate Republicans are announcing Senator John Kavanagh will serve as the new Senate Majority Leader, effective immediately.

"We held an organizational meeting today to elect a new Senate Majority Leader. Senator John Kavanagh was elected by his peers," said Senate President Warren Petersen. "As a state lawmaker for 19 years, Senator Kavanagh brings a wealth of experience and institutional knowledge of the innerworkings of state government and will be able to unite the caucus as we work to advance a conservative agenda for the citizens of Arizona."

"I'm humbled to have been elected to this position, and I want to concentrate on moving forward- united," said Majority Leader Kavanagh.
