PHOENIX, ARIZONA—Senate President Warren Petersen will welcome a group of young Arizonans to the Senate Chamber on Monday, March 23 for a special presentation recognizing the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States.

Youth for America, a group of students from Snowflake in Navajo County, will perform a mini patriotic program titled "Freedom Lights the Way" when the Senate floor session commences at approximately 12:00 p.m. The presentation will feature quotes and music celebrating the nation's founding principles and enduring commitment to liberty.

The program was written and directed by former Arizona State Senator Sylvia Allen. Her continued dedication to civic education and American values has inspired a new generation of young leaders.

"Arizona's future depends on young people who understand and appreciate the principles that make our country exceptional," said President Petersen. "Welcoming these students to the Senate is a powerful way to honor America's 250th birthday while reinforcing the importance of preserving the freedoms we hold dear."

The performance is especially significant as the nation prepares to mark its semiquincentennial, a milestone that offers an opportunity to reflect on the founding ideals of freedom, self-governance, and personal responsibility. By bringing this presentation to the Senate floor, Youth for America aims to inspire both lawmakers and the public to remain committed to protecting the American birthright of liberty for future generations.
