(Phoenix, State Capitol) ---- Senator Sylvia Allen this week coordinated an effort to get much-needed masks and medical equipment to Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low. Supplies are at critical lows across the country because of the Coronavirus, and the White Mountains are no exception.
Earlier this week, Senator Allen received a phone call from Summit, saying they were low on masks and other personal protection equipment. Senator Allen then heard from Ronda Doolen, Governing Board President of the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) in Mesa. Doolen said her Nursing School would be going online because of the Coronavirus, and they would not need the equipment.
On Monday, March 23, Senator Allen went to EVIT to pick up these vital supplies and equipment. The next day, she delivered it to Summit, where CEO Ron McArthur and other administrators helped unload the car.
"I am so grateful I was able to be the 'middle man' in getting these supplies to those who need them," said Senator Allen. "My office is doing the best we can during this difficult time, to be a part of the solution in solving problems."
