Hobbs Shows Support for Exposing Children to
Sexually Explicit Performances
PHOENIX, ARIZONA—Senator Anthony Kern (R-27) is expressing his disgust at the Governor's refusal to regulate sexually explicit performances to protect children by vetoing SB 1030 (sexually explicit performances; regulation) and SB 1028 (adult cabaret performances; prohibited locations).
Senator Kern sponsored both bills, which would have required a board of supervisors to adopt specified zoning ordinances relating to adult-oriented businesses (SB 1030), as well as restricted where a person or entity can engage in an adult cabaret performance (SB 1028).
"The most repulsive aspect of these vetoes is that protecting our children from perversion and sexually explicit content has clearly become a party-line issue," said Senator Kern. "Every Democrat who voted against these bills, which was every single one of them, along with the Governor, should be ashamed. We need to stop sexualizing and grooming children by exposing them to inappropriate content. It should absolutely be illegal for adults to perform adult content in front of children, and I'm baffled why anyone would think otherwise. This is an issue I will never stop fighting against."
