"I’m disappointed that the Maricopa County Treasurer's Office is thumbing its nose at state law. This year, the Legislature voted overwhelmingly that county treasurers must send everyone a property tax statement, including those with a mortgage. Across the state, people are receiving these proper notices in their mail. But in Maricopa County, instead of sending the detailed tax information it has sent for decades, that Treasurer's Office used the same amount of space to explain that homeowners should use their clunky online system to find that information. This childish move is a clear attempt to undermine the intent of the law and does little to inform taxpayers of their tax bill. What they did was a waste of time and taxpayer money. Maricopa County residents deserve transparency."
