The Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry today named Senator Vince Leach Senator of the Year at its Annual Awards Luncheon. The Chamber holds the event to honor and celebrate exceptional Arizona leaders and their achievements in policy, business and volunteerism.
Senator Leach was chosen for his longstanding work with the business community, along with his constituents and all the people of Arizona. The Chamber took note of his hard work on two big issues, the use of unused school facilities and the need for reform with the initiative process.
The Chamber described him as the ideal bill sponsor, ensuring those impacted by legislation get their say as he shepherds the bill through the process and works with all parties to produce a good bill.
“As has been the case throughout his legislative career, few legislators are as focused on enhancing Arizona’s competitive standing as Senator Vince Leach," said Arizona Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Glenn Hamer. "Sen. Leach in 2019 worked successfully to ensure our initiative process has important safeguards in place to protect against fraud, and he sponsored a bill that became law that shines a light on empty and underutilized school buildings, which will help ensure K-12 resources are being directed to where they are needed most. We congratulate him for being the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Senator of the Year.”
