Senator Borrelli looks to bring electronic bingo to qualified businesses

Electronic Bingo is a form of Class II game, which utilizes a computer screen to display randomly-generated numbers or symbols. Class II games include “non-banking” games such as poker, and are often used by private organizations for fundraisers. This differs from Class III casino games, which comprise horse racing, lotteries, roulette, slot machines and more lucrative casino games.

For Arizona residents, avenues for legal gambling include only tribal casinos, horse and dog racing and the Arizona State Lottery. The state’s fraternal organizations, such as the Eagles and the Elks, are permitted to operate electronic bingo machines within their respective clubhouses.

According to Borrelli, Mohave County contributes much to the Arizona State Lottery, while seeing lottery funds go to the benefit of Phoenix. Borrelli’s bill could open a new source of funding to not only Mohave County businesses, but the county itself.
