Phoenix Rescue Mission Thanks Donors

Arizona Legislature recognized for its Water Bottle Drive

The Phoenix Rescue Mission held a Donor Appreciation Breakfast on September 22, to thank organizations that took part in the Code: Red Summer Heat Relief program. For the first time, Phoenix Rescue Mission collected more than one million water bottles, in the effort to save the lives of those who live on the streets during the summer months. The Arizona Legislature was one of the organizations that won a Lifesaver Award, for the efforts research staff in the Senate and House made in the Research Water Wars. Research staff created a friendly competition between the two chambers in August, and in the end the Senate 'defeated' the House, collecting 13,960 to the House's 12,394.

The Phoenix Rescue Mission was founded in 1952, and provides food, shelter and chapel services to the homeless and working poor of metropolitan Phoenix.
